Cleaning Anyone?

So today I got to earn some cash by cleaning a house today. It was nice to get out and do some work and I actually got it done in a pretty decent amount of time - 5 1/2 hours :) And on Monday I get to take a mini road trip to Austin for an overnight stay. I will get to see Josh and Grace!! They are truly like family to me even though I have not seen them in a long time. They are kind of like a brother and a sister to me (except they are married to each other). They are just good folks and it will be nice to see them again :)

Today's song on the 24 Days of Christmas on The Great Faith Adventure is What Child is This? You will get to enjoy Jessica Simpson today as she does an awesome version!!

The lyrics for What Child Is This was written by William Chatterton Dix in 1865. He was one of more than 20 lyricists who chose to use the tune Greensleeves to use as the music for his song. He wrote the lyrics while he was confined to bed with a sudden near fatal illness which led to a deep depression. He wrote many hymns during his bed rest, one being What Child Is This?

1. What child is this, who, laid to rest,

On Mary’s lap is sleeping,
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;1
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,2
The babe, the son of Mary!

2. Why lies He in such mean estate

Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear: for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.3
Nails, spear shall pierce him through,4
The Cross be borne for me, for you;5
Hail, hail the Word Made Flesh,6
The babe, the son of Mary!

3. So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh;

Come, peasant, king, to own Him!7
The King of Kings salvation brings;
Let loving hearts enthrone Him!8
Raise, raise the song on high!4
The virgin sings her lullaby.9
Joy! joy! for Christ is born,
The babe, the son of Mary!
