I Will Sing Of My Redeemer

Yay for Sunday! Yay that I am at home on this Sunday and can make sure I get myself to church. I will be visiting again First Baptist Church in Euless - I am considering transferring my membership there. I had thought about moving closer to Waxahachie if I do end up getting the full time academic counselor position, but the churches in that area are smaller and don't necessarily have many of the ministries that would be beneficial for me - like say a good singles ministry. I'd be lumped in with adults in general in a Sunday School class - ummmm while that is fine I really would like to meet other singles - some that may also have a zoo going on as well lol

Today's song title is from a great great hymn - I Will Sing of My Redeemer. Barlow Girl and Selah do a great version of this. I mean hey Barlow Girl - sisters in a band and one is a drummer. Way cool :) I thought at first that it was from the hymn by Philip Bliss, but the words are different. The song that Barlow Girl and Selah do is off the Duets album that Selah put out. When you hear it and sing the song it definitely gets you in a praise and worship mood. You have to thank God - how can you not. Here ya go:

Verse 1
I will sing of my Redeemer
He who took the nails for me
I’ve been purchased, I’ve been pardoned
Bound to Him I’m truly free

Verse 2
I will sing of my Redeemer
How He sought me while a slave
Loosed me from the curse of sin and
From the power of the grave

Chorus
I will sing of my Redeemer
Lift my voice to praise my Lord
Ransomed by His blood and mercy
I am His forevermore

Verse 3
I will sing of my Redeemer
He who bore my cross, my curse
Came a servant, chose to suffer
Lifted up and cast from earth

Verse 4
I will sing of my Redeemer
Tell about the grace I’ve known
Here on earth with those forgiven
And one day around His throne
