Ancient Words

First off this is hilarious. It comes from suggestions for what new freshmen going to a Christian college should bring: " EARPLUGS. I attended Belmont University, a christian university in Nashville. My roommate played her keyboard all hours of the day/night. turning every song into a christian song. so, unless you want to hear disney's aladdin's "a whole new world" turned into a praise song, pack the plugs." Hahaha that is classic.

So God continues to be so very good to me. Yesterday I was dealing with something and I cried out and God brought peace and comfort to my heart. I love that. I am glad that He has me in this position because I am depending on Him for everything and I like that.

Today's blog is entitled Ancient Words after the song that Michael W. Smith does. I believe it is off the Worship Again cd - it's the blue one. I think I played it in church before. I can pick out the melody by ear on the piano (hey Megan I learned something in the ear training part of music theory lol - or maybe just from playing clarinet as my 2nd instrument). Anyway I really like that song because they really do give hope and comfort and guidance. One of the verses I am clinging to is Isaiah 40:31. As I go through the valley and as I face the adventure that September will be with regards to my faith, I take comfort in those ancient words written so long ago that are as real today as they were back then. And it encourages me to keep praying for the things that will not have immediate answers one way or another.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

I hope these bring comfort to you and go find Ancient Words - awesome song!

Holy words long preserved
for our walk in this world,
They resound with God's own heart.
Oh let the ancient words impart

Words of Life, words of Hope
Give us strength, help us cope
In this world, where e'er we roam
Ancient words will guide us Home.

CHORUS:
Ancient words ever true
Changing me and changing you,
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart

Holy words of our Faith
Handed down to this age
Came to us through sacrifice
Oh heed the faithful words of Christ.

Holy words long preserved
For our walk in this world.
They resound with God's own heart
Oh let the ancient words impart.

CHORUS x4
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart
