Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Good late morning because I am still in the recliner on the laptop at 11:31 TX time lol It is August 12, 2009. I am not dead and the rapture has not occurred. God is not finished with me yet!

You are going to get a double treat today. Today's blog is after the awesome wonderful hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness. Selah does one of my favorite versions and it is off of their first album Be Still My Sould. You get the lyrics to sing along with the video :)

Okay so awesome story of God's faithfulness. As my whopping three followers know I am an adjunct psychology instructor at Navarro College. Adjunct means as needed. If a class does not get enough students or if they have nothing for me then no income coming in which makes it difficult to get everything paid. I got my last check from Navarro at the end of July and do not get another one from them until the end of September. I also have a once a month change ads in the grocery store carts that with mileage I get $58 a month. So yes August and September are challenges. So I have to literally take it one bill at a time. So the two challenges on the plate (anyone ever see Man vs. Food and the eating challenges he does? I love that show!) were the rent and the electr4ic bill (stupid Texas and the heat and humidity). Well I started up again doing something that Dr. Jeffress my pastor at First Baptist Dallas suggested - take a piece of paper divide it in half. On one side write down your requests and on the other side right down God's answers. So I came up with a list of 14 things - now down to 12 but back up to 14 lol. On it were the rent and the electric bill. Again stupid Texas and the heat and humidity (no flinging me out of Texas Megan lol). Well the rent situation is getting taken care of - my dad is sending me half and I have the other half. Amen thank you Jesus! The electric bill was the next challenge as I was faced with a disconnect notice. Well I tried calling TXU a few times finally the last girl that I talked to connected me to a supervisor and I explained my situation multiple times - I can pay something on it on the 24th of August, but not until then and I do not want it to get cut off. Thank you Jesus they were able to work it out where I can pay $113.29 on the 24th and pay some more when I get paid at the end of September and then keep spreading it out. Yay!

Then last night I read a verse in Isaiah that is bringing me encouragement in my prayer life. Which I need and it helps me to stay focused in prayer. I am not ADHD or anything (I promise this energy is natural lol - although I have calmed down significantly since my college days), but I find it is easy to drift in our prayer lives. We get easily distracted and lose focus. I mean sometimes I will start praying and then all of a sudden find myself composing a blog in my head. Yeah not good. So if I have something written down then I can take it out and it keeps me focused and concentrated and persistent.

So here is the verse for you:

Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

It's the New King James Version which is funny - I prefer NKJV for memorization and New American Standard for my personal Bible reading and the NIV for just reading through (and now I am laughing at the fact that I have kept a Bible in my bathroom and Andrew Shirley my CBU friend who is in Switchfoot would keep a Bible in his bathroom in the on campus apartment he shared with Matt and Charles).

Anyway I realized that some of the things I am praying about are not going to be answered right away. They are going to take time. So I have to keep at it until God answers either way. For all I know He is going before me to prepare the way for some of the things I am praying about and now is not the right time. He has to get things lined up.

I have another awesome story too. I am working on helping Allan's friend Chris find a roommate in Nashville. Yep they are all in Nashville and I am here big old Texas (I can't say little because Texas is waaayy bigger than Tennessee). I asked Allan if Chris still needed another roommate and he said yes so I decided to check Craigslist this time. I don't normally do it because I do not want to send any axe murderers to Chris and Robert (who God helped me find for them off of the Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma listserve). So I called this one guy that had a Dallas number. He has just moved there to be closer to his fiancee and will be a grad student at Trevecca Nazarene University. He also went bike riding with Todd Smith of Selah and is in the video that Todd tweeted. Plus the guy (his name is Jason) goes to Cross Point church where Todd goes to church. So how cool is that. I think Allan goes there too. Jason is from the Dallas/Fort Worth area as is Robert - a connection there - and he went to East Texas Baptist University - another connection. ETBU is a Baptist college and Baylor used to be until it divorced itself from the Southern Baptist Convention (oh how I remember the talk of that back in 1997 in my Integration of Psychology and Theology class - thank the good Lord it was one of the last two classes I had to take for my masters). Jason said I could keep his cell number and e-mail address. He is also looking for work and I am working on seeing what I can help point him towards. I told him I am hoping to move to Nashville next year. I really do. I want to get a full time position at a college working with college students. I love doing this stuff. Helping people find roommates and look for work. So this got added to the list which brought it up to 14 things to pray about. Oh and Allan said if it didn't work out he was going to keep making use of my skills as I am having better luck than he and Chris are and they are in Nashville and I am in Texas. Yay!

Okay video and lyrics below this.

Great is Thy faithfulness, oh God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
to Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Good day, sun shines!
There have been times of troubles when I didn't know about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright pessimistic person.
I have never imagined that there weren't any need in big starting capital.
Nowadays, I feel good, I started take up real income.
It gets down to select a correct partner who uses your funds in a right way - that is incorporate it in real business, parts and divides the income with me.

You may ask, if there are such firms? I have to tell the truth, YES, there are. Please be informed of one of them:
