As I write this the SWAT team is across the street bringing down the drug house. So someone check in on me later to make sure I am okay. And why is it when the SWAT team is in your neighborhood or when the school goes into lockdown that's when you immediately think of some stuff you have to get done outside lol I need to get the litter box changed and put it outside for the garbage pick up. And I think the cats would prefer the better cat food that is currently in my car.

Today I got to meet with my first student in the counseling center at Hill College. I am happy that they are letting me volunteer and that the director of the counseling center has found two students for me to work with. I am going to have fun and I am already thinking of some things to do with this one student that I met with today. And it reminds me of why I am pursuing this. To me this is not work it is my calling and I want to be able to make a difference. And I want to help students find something they care about doing and see them pursue it and not give up. This student that I worked with today - I call her an overcomer. She didn't grow up in the best of environments, but there is something in her that is a fighter and an overcomer. She wants to rise above her circumstances. She has found something that she enjoys doing and it making a difference in her life. She reminds me that I need to keep on overcoming even though it gets hard. She reminds me that I need to keep pursuing my dream. God I hope you see that I have found something I love and am passionate about. I pray God that you will not forget me. Please God let me dreams come true too.
